Around the World on Wednesday - let's go on a adventure

Hoi en welkom bij de Around the World On Wednesday blog hop. Het thema van deze maand is "let's go on an adventure" oftewel laten we op avontuur gaan. En dat in het breedste zin van het woord. Bij avontuur denk ik aan vakantie, uitstapjes ondernemen, maar spelletjes, wandelen met de hond en ga zo maar door. Ik heb ook een persoonlijk avontuur die ik binnenkort ga beginnen en dat start met mijn 50ste verjaardag later deze maand. Voelt het echt anders als je 50 bent????? Geintje

Hi and welcome to the Around the World On Wednesday blog hop. The theme of this month is "let's go on an adventure". Let your imagination run wild with the interpretation of this theme. Well, I have been thinking about my upcoming vacation, excursions, games, walking with the dog and lots more. I also have been thinking about something very personal, my upcoming 50th birthday later this month. Does it feel different if you are 50???? Just kidding.

En mijn 50ste verjaardag wil ik natuurlijk niet alleen vieren. Dit avontuur ga ik graag samen aan met een stel lieve mensen om mij heen. Om ze uit te nodigen heb ik deze kaartjes gemaakt.

And I don't want to celebrate my 50th birthday alone. I love to go on this adventure with all my loved ones beside me. To invite them I made these cards.

Met de Feestballonnenstansen heb ik een malletje gemaakt en deze heb ik gebruikt om in verschillende kleuren de ballonnen op de kaart te blenden met een Blending Brush. Voor elke kaart heb ik weer een andere samenstelling van kleuren gebruikt, maar voor deze kaart heb ik de kleuren Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Azure Afternoon en Highland Heather gebruikt. De sliertjes en de tekst komen uit de Feestballonnen stempelset. Als laatste heb ik wat sequins toegevoegd.

With the Festive Balloons dies I made a template and I used this template to blend the balloons on the cardstock in different colors with the Blending Brush. For each card a used a different combination of colors, but for this card I used the colors Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Azure Afternoon and Highland Heather. The strings and the text are from the Festive Balloons stamp set. Last but not least I added some sequins.

Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - Splish Splash

Hoi en welkom bij de internationale Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop. Het thema van deze maand is "Splish, splash!", oftewel alles wat te maken heeft met water. Nou dat vond ik nog niet zo makkelijk. Ik heb namelijk helemaal geen stempelsets in mijn bezit welke te maken hebben met water, golven, waterdieren, of wat dan ook. Het enige wat ik zelf heb is de Seashells 3D embossing folder. Daar ben ik dan ook gelijk mee aan de slag gegaan.

Hi and welcome to the International Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop. The theme of this month is "Splish, Splash!", everything related to water. Well that wasn't easy for me. I have no water related stamp sets in my stash like waves, water animals or whatever. The only water related thing I have is the Seashells 3D embossing folder. So that is what I used to make this card.

Allereerst heb ik een stuk Pearledescent Specialty Paper genomen om met de Seashells 3D embossing folder te embossen. Door de prachtige glans van het papier lijken het net echte schelpen. Daarna heb ik de schelpen en waterplantjes uitgeknipt en heb ik ze ietwat ingekleurd met de Blending Brushes. Voor de achtergrond van mijn kaart heb ik een techniek gebruikt die op dit moment helemaal hot is in kaartenland. Op een stuk Vellum heb ik met mijn Stampin' Blends in verschillende kleuren wat vlekken gemaakt en daarna ben ik er met een kwast met 96% alcohol overheen gegaan. Je kunt wat spelen met de alcohol en de kleuren. Een elke achtergrond is weer anders. Leuk om te proberen, maar wees gewaarschuwd. Deze techniek is heel verslavend.

First of all I took a piece of Pearledescent Specialty Paper to emboss it with the Seashells 3D embossing folder. This beautiful paper gives a real look to the seashells. I cut out the sea shells and plants and I brushed some color to them with the Blending Brushes. To make the background I used a technique which everybody is using/trying in card making land. I took a piece of Vellum and I colored several spots on it with different blue colors of the Stampin' Blends. After that I took some Alcohol 96% and dotted over it. Every background will be different. I strongly advise you to try this technique some time, but be warned. This technique is very addicting.
