Around the World on Wednesday - something new, something used

Hoi en welkom bij de Internationale Around The World on Wednesday blog hop onder leiding van de geweldige Angie McKenzie uit Amerika. Het thema van deze maand is 'Something new, Something used' oftewel iets nieuws en iets gebruikt. Nou dat was niet zo heel moeilijk. Met een nieuwe mini catalogus in aantocht heb ik voor iets nieuws een nieuwe achtergrondstempel gebruikt, de Hand Drawn Dots. Voor iets gebruikt was het ietsjes moeilijker, want ik heb heel veel stempels die ik al veel gebruikt heb. Ik heb er eentje gekozen die ik heel veel gebruikt heb, maar waar ik al een tijdje niet mee gewerkt heb. The Hand Penned bundle.

Well that wasn't hard to choose. With a new mini catalog coming I used the new background stamp "Hand Drawn Dots" from that catalog. Choosing something used was harder to do. I have a lot of used stamp sets, but I have chosen one I used a lot, but not in the last few months. The Hand Penned bundle.

Met de achtergrondstempel Hand Drawn Dots heb ik eerst de achtergrond heat embost met witte embossing poeder op een stukje Blushing Bride cardstock. Daarna heb ik uit een restant stukje Basic White cardstock het randje gestanst en de bloemen met de Penned Flowers dies. De 'Thanks' komt uit de Hand Penned Petals stempelset.

First I stamped the background with the new stamp Hand Drawn Dots on a piece of Blushing Bride card stock. I used some white embossing powder for the background. With the Penned Flowers dies I cut the flowers for the front of the card out of a piece of Basic White card stock and the "Thanks" is from the Hand Penned stamp set.

Stamping INKspirations blog hop - Sounds of the Season

Hoi en welkom bij de maandelijkse Stamping INKspirations blog hop. Samen met een aantal collega Stampin' Up! demonstratrices van over de hele wereld, willen wij je graag wat inspiratie geven met als thema "the Sounds of the Season" oftewel het geluid van het seizoen.

Waar denk jij aan als je het over het geluid van het seizoen hebt? Ik denk op dit moment aan Kerst en het is geen Kerst als ik dit liedje nog niet gehoord heb op de radio.

Hi and welcome to the monthly Stamping INKspirations blog hop. Together with some colleague Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world, we would like to give you some inspiration with the theme "the Sounds of the Season".

Which sound comes into your mind if you think of the Sounds of the Season? At this time of year I of course think about Christmas and it will not be Christmas if this song isn't played on the radio yet.

'All I want for Xmas is you....' van Mariah Carey natuurlijk. Oké, oké, we zijn ook wel een beetje toe aan nieuwe liedjes, maar het blijft een gouwe ouwe net als Last Christmas van Wham (leuk weetje, ik heb ooit in dezelfde gondel gezeten als zij hihi). Ja toch? Met de Alphabet A La Mode dies, die in de Januari-April mini catalogus staan, heb ik deze tekst 2x uitgestanst en daarna de letters op elkaar geplakt zodat je net iets meer hoogte krijgt. Daarna heb ik de letters gekleurd met de Gold Flakes. Een rommelig werkje, want in mijn hobbykamer ligt nu overal gouden vlokken, maar de letters zijn echt prachtig geworden.

'All I want for Xmas is you....' from Mariah Carey of course. Oké, oké, sometimes we get too much Mariah Carey on the radio but it will always be a golden oldie just like Last Christmas from Wham (did you know I once rode the same gondola as they did). With the Alphabet A La Mode dies, which are a sneak peek of the new January-April mini catalog, I cut the letters twice and glued them together so it got some more dimension. After that I glued some Gold flakes to the letters. It is a messy job, and you can find the flakes everywhere in my hobby room right now, but they are amazing like this aren't they?

Met de Celebrate with Tags stansen heb ik de hartjes uit het Storybook Gnomes DSP gestanst. Helaas zijn beide producten door de lopende sale uitverkocht, maar ik vond ze wel heel toepasselijk voor deze pagina. Deze pagina heb ik trouwens in een soort scrapbook met vaste pagina's gemaakt. Ik probeer hierin voor bepaalde gelegenheden een pagina te maken. Dit was de meivakantie. Ik ben nog niet zo heel goed in het maken van scrapbookpagina's, maar ik vind het wel heel leuk om ermee te werken. Voor de scrapbookers onder ons, zal dit misschien niet een hele spannende pagina zijn, maar elke keer leer ik weer iets bij, toch?

With the Celebrate with Tags dies I cut the hearts out of the Storybook Gnomes DSP. Unfortunately both products are sold out with the sale going on right now, but I just wanted to use these because they fit this page. I made this page in a book in which I try to keep track of events during the year. This was a vacation in Mai. I am not that good in making these pages because it is new to me, but I learn every time I make one.

Around The World On Wednesday Blog Hop - Sketch 102

Hoi en welkom bij de Around The World on Wednesday blog hop. Een maandelijkse blog hop die georganiseerd wordt door mijn collega demo Angie McKenzie uit Amerika. Voor deze maand mochten wij kiezen tussen de volgende variaties van Sketch 102.

Hi and welcome to the Around The World on Wednesday Blog hop. A monthly blog hop organized by my fellow demonstrator Angie McKenzie from America. This month we had the option to choose one the variations of Sketch 102.

Ondanks dat ik alle 3 de variaties heel leuk vind, heb ik voor de middelste gekozen. Eenvoudig, maar super leuk. Dit was mijn eerste kaartje. In dit kaartje staan de kleuren Shaded Spruce en Pool Party centraal. Ik heb mij hiertoe laten leiden door het prachtige design uit de Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper pack.

Despite the fact I like all 3 of these variations I chose the middle one. Simple, but great. This was the first card I made. The colors Shaded Spruce and Pool Party are the colors in the spotlights. The amazing design out of the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper Pack inspired me to use these colors.

Ik heb geprobeerd om zo goed mogelijk de sketch na te maken, maar je kunt natuurlijk een hele eigen twist geven aan een dergelijke Sketch. De grote cirkel had ook bijvoorbeeld een mooie bloem kunnen zijn of een ander figuur. Je kunt er alle kanten mee op. Ik wilde hem zelf graag zo eenvoudig mogelijk houden.

Nadat ik deze kaart gemaakt had, wilde ik ook graag een mannelijke versie maken met de He's the Man suite. Het enige wat ik achterwege heb gelaten is het strikje, maar voor de rest is de lay-out precies hetzelfde.

I tried to copy the Sketch as good as I could, but of course you could give your own twist to this Sketch. Instead of the circle for example you could add a flower or something else. There are a lot of variations. I just wanted to keep it clean and simple.

After I made the first card I wanted to make a male version with the He's the Man suite. I didn't add the bow, but the rest of the lay-out is exactly the same.

Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge

Hoi en welkom bij de maandelijkse Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop onder leiding van Angie McKenzie uit Amerika. Angie heeft ons deze maand als opdracht/thema een Sketch gegeven en dit is de Sketch.

Heb jij ooit wel eens een kaartje gemaakt aan de hand van een Sketch? Ikzelf gebruik ze heel graag. Soms heb je gewoon even geen inspiratie of zelfs zin om een lay-out voor een kaart te verzinnen. Dan zoek ik op internet naar kaart Sketches en dan kom je zoveel tegen, dat er altijd wel een lay-out tussen zit waarmee je aan de slag wilt. Vandaag heeft Angie deze lay-out voor ons bedacht en ik ben er dan ook gelijk mee aan de slag gegaan! Heerlijk!

Did you ever make a card with a card Sketch? Me? I love to use Sketches. Sometimes you just don't have the inspiration to think of a lay-out. At these times I search for card Sketches on the internet. You can find so many that there always is one you want to make at that time. Today Angie made this Sketch for us and I made one right away. I just love it! Thank you Angie!

Als eerste heb ik een stuk Celebrate Everyting Designer Series Paper genomen van 10 cm bij 10,5 cm en deze heb ik doormidden gescheurd. Deze heb ik los van elkaar op de basis kaart van Poppy Parade geplakt, waardoor dezelfde achtergrond is ontstaan als op de Sketch. Voor de cirkels heb ik de Stylish Shapes gebruikt en heb ik 2 cirkels uitgestanst in de kleuren Shaded Spruce en Crushed Curry. De tekst op de banner komt uit de Lovely for You stempelset.

First of all I used a piece of Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper of 10 cm by 10,5 cm and I tore it in half. I glued it to my base card and this way I made the background of the Sketch. For the circles I used the Stylish Shape and I die cut 2 circles in the colors Shaded Spruce and Crushed Curry. The text on the banner is stamped with the stamp set Lovely for You.

De blaadjes heb ik gestanst met de Aspen Trees Dies. Als je goed kijkt zie je zelfs de nerfjes in de blaadjes zitten. Is dat niet geweldig?

The leaves I die cut with the Aspen Trees Dies. Even the veins are visible. Isn't that amazing?

Ik ben echt heel blij met het eindresultaat en doordat ik al een Sketch voorhanden had, had ik de kaart ook vrij vlot gemaakt. Daar hou ik van. Ben jij benieuwd naar wat de anderen gemaakt hebben met deze sketch? Ga dan snel naar de geweldige Teri West door op onderstaande knop te klikken.

Around the World On Wednesday - It's a wonderful day in my neighborhood

Hoi en welkom bij de Around The World on Wednesday Blog Hop. Het thema van deze maand is "een mooie dag in je buurt". Nou dat was een lastige en daar heb ik even over na moeten denken. Niet dat het niet een mooie dag in mijn omgeving is, maar hoe ga ik dit thema in een kaartje gieten.

Hi and welcome to the Around The World on Wednesday Blog Hop. The theme of this month is "It's a wonderful day in my neighborhood". Well that was a though one and I had to think it over a little bit. Not that my neighborhood isn't wonderful, but how could I adopt the theme in my project.

Het mooiste en het bekendste wat IJsselstein te bieden heeft is natuurlijk elk jaar de grootste kerstboom van Nederland. In IJsselstein staat de Zendmast en van deze mast wordt er elk jaar een kerstboom gemaakt van maar liefst 372 meter hoog. Ik wilde de kerstboom een centrale plek geven op mijn kaartje, dus ik heb gezocht in mijn stempelsets en met de Trees for Sale stempelset hoopte ik de toren na te kunnen stempelen, maar helaas. Na 4 pogingen heb ik het opgegeven en ben ik aan andere gebeurtenissen gaan denken. In mijn hoofd zag het er toch een stuk beter uit dan in het echt.

The most beautiful and famous thing of IJsselstein is of course every year the biggest Christmas tree of the Netherlands. In IJsselstein there is a transmission tower and from that tower they make a Christmas tree of 372 meters high. I wanted to put the tree in the spotlights on my card, so I searched in my stamp sets and thought I could do so with the Trees for Sale stamp set. But unfortunately not. After 4 attempts I gave up and I searched for other events in IJsselstein. In my head it looked much better than on paper hihi...

Een van de andere leuke evenementen die onder andere regelmatig in IJsselstein plaats vinden, zijn de Oldtimers. Ze staan dan op het Podium opgesteld om te bewonderen en uiteraard rijden ze door IJsselstein naar de volgende plek. Zo mooi om te zien hoe de eigenaren met zoveel bezieling met hun auto omgaan. Ik hou er van. Toen ik aan de Oldtimers dacht, moest ik gelijk aan dit product pakket denken. De He's the Man product pakket. Heerlijk mannelijk Designer Series Paper en stempels die heel goed te gebruiken zijn voor mannenkaarten.

One of the events happening regularly in IJsselstein are the Old-timers. They are shown at the Podium and of course after that they will drive through IJsselstein to the next town. It is amazing to see how much passion the owners of these beautiful cars have. I just love to see that. When I thought of these Old-timers I directly thought about the He's the Man product suite. The amazing Designer Series Paper is very manly and ideal to use for man cards.

Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - Mijn favoriete funfold

Hoi en welkom bij de Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop georganiseerd door de geweldige Angie McKenzie uit Amerika. Het thema van deze maand is "mijn favoriete funfold". Nou daar hoefde ik niet zo heel lang over na te denken.

Hi and welcome to the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop organized by the amazing Angie McKenzie. The theme of this month is "my favorite fun fold". Well that was an easy one!

Kun jij al zien wat voor een soort funfold dit is? Voor deze geweldig kaart heb ik het prachtige He's The Man Designer Series Paper gebruikt en als basis een stuk Soft Succulent cardstock. In het pak DSP zitten twee vellen met afbeeldingen, die je er zo uit kunt drukken zoals de pijl, de tekst en de volkswagen bus. Dit is echt geweldig om de leukste kaarten te maken, ook al heb je de stempelset (nog) niet.

Can you see what the fun fold is? For this card I used the He's The Man Designer Series Paper and the base card is made of a piece of Soft Succulent card stock. In a pack of DSP you can find to pieces of paper with all cut-outs like the arrow, the text and the Volkswagen. This is amazing to use on all kinds of projects even if you don't have the stamp set (just yet).

En? Had je het geraden? Jazeker, het is een dubbele Z-fold kaart. Het is echt een hele eenvoudige kaart om te maken, maar het resultaat is zo overweldigend. Elke keer als ik een enkele of dubbele Z-fold kaart maak, is het eindresultaat weer verbazingwekkend. Er zijn zoveel mogelijkheden en heerlijk eenvoudig om te maken. Vandaar dat het ook zeker mijn meest favoriete fun fold kaart is.

And? Did you guess right? You are right, it is a double Z-fold card. The card looks complicated to make, but it is really easy to do so. Every time I make a normal or double Z-fold card the end result is amazing. There are so many possibilities in combination with the DSP. Because of this and the fact it is an easy card to make, it is my most favorite fun fold card to make.
